Public Interest Lawyer and staunch NDC member, Sam Pee Yalley, has impliedly questioned the manliness of presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party for Election 2012, Nana Akufo-Addo, saying in spite of his infamous “all-die-be-die” statement and subsequent show of machismo in public, the NPP Flagbearer will go pale at the sight of any bloodshed.
In a couched remark, the Public Interest lawyer said Nana Addo will show a clean pair of heels in the event of any carnage and cautioned NPP activists “energized” by his comment to exercise restraint. He stressed that it is worthless for anybody to die for someone to become president, and advised NPP sympathizers who seemed buoyed up by their flagbearer’s comment to re-think whatever action they intend taking.
“Nana Addo is my friend and in spite of his public show of macho, he will not see blood and stand there so people who have been energized by the “all die be die” call should please calm down…It is not necessary to attack each other,” he added.
Speaking on e-TV’s Breakfast TV Newspaper Review, the former Minister of State under the Rawlings regime expressed reservations at the donning of a t-shirt with the inscription “all-die-be-die” by staunch NPP member Ursula Owusu, particularly when the statement had been roundly condemned by well-meaning Ghanaians. He added that it is time civil society concentrate on things that unite the country than issues and confrontations that tend to divide the nation.
“I was really saddened when I saw Ursula with all “die be die” t-shirt; my question was, what was she promoting or does she want to tell us it is a good statement?” he quizzed.
