Stella Monye bounces back with De Huk Up show

    Stella MonyePopular Samba Queen, Stella Monye, is set to return her monthly show, De Huk Up in Lagos. The talented singer who is better known as Her Excellency, recently told Daily Sun that her band will from this month reopen the live show that was rested sometimes last year.

    Monye, whose band performed at a book launch on Lagos Island, disclosed that she just returned from Edo State where she went to thrill the civil society, the human rights activists during the state burial of elder statesman, Chief Anthony Enahoro.

    Stella Monye had always played on June 12 for the civil society for the past four years, and she also participated actively during the Pronaco event as well as in other human right activities.

    On the monthly show tagged: De Huk Up Show (Harvest of the Unique Kinswomen), she said, “De Huk Up Show goes on TV. I will be partnering a television station, and we are also starting the Island version and a celebrity corner, because it is basically female oriented. We will be inviting a whole lot of female celebrities from all branches of showbizness, from the pageant to fashion and to Nollywood and music.

    The aim is to highlight positive contributions by these unique women. We will also invite men. Aside from that we are starting a small entertainment spot at the mainland which I will throw open soon. I also have a couple of projects and I’m warming up for collaboration with an International female artiste, first of its kind taking place in Africa. I am shooting the video of Oko Mi Yee for the first time featuring seasoned actor Norbert Young and Ngozi Nwosu of The Fuji House Of Commotion.

    The Queen of Samba music is also said to be eyeing the highest office in the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) although she had in the past denied being a politician.
