Ghana’s quest to retain Africa Youth Championship title in Libya next month is in danger after anti-government protest rocked the country on Thursday.
A wave of anti-government demonstrations across the region has led to the disruption of several sporting events in both Egypt and Tunisia.
The African Youth Championship will be held in the North Africa country from 18 March.
Caf is monitoring developments in Libya because of the turmoil with days quickly approaching for the tournament.
This means the tournament could be called off or could be played in another country because of the safety of players and officials.
Protestors, it is feared, could use the staging of the event to start fresh demonstrations.
The Black Satellites who won the U20 World Cup in neighbouring Egypt two years ago are due to travel to Barcelona in preparation for the tournament.
They are expected to arrive Libya in three weeks for start of the tournament.
