The world’s best hoopsters burn up the court. Although a lockout that began on 1 July 2011 threatened the season, the National Basketball Association (NBA) is expected to be on the court this month, dishing up great hoops action for hungry fans around the globe.
Last season saw the Dallas Mavericks finally get revenge, as well as their first NBA title, defeating the Miami Heat 4-2 in the Finals behind Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki and Jason Terry, who led the Mavs with 27 points in the last game, are the two remaining players from the Dallas team that lost to Miami in the 2006 Finals. See the Mavs and Bulls face off on the 8th, while the Thunder take on the Magic on the 15th, followed by a meeting with the Heat on the 24th. Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are also in action as they take on the Utah Jazz early in the month and the Phoenix Suns at the end. DStv audiences can tune into ESPN to watch all the NBA action.
