Visiting Africa Sports of Cote d’Ivoire fought from two goals down to wreak a 3-2 defeat on Asante Kotoko in their international friendly at the Baba Yara Stadium yesterday.

The home side’s Ivorian import Ahmed Simba Toure recorded a brace in the first half, hitting the back of the net in the 23rd and 30th minutes.

Toure connected home an Afranie Yeboah pass for the opener, and he combined effectively with striker Nathaniel Asamoah to register his name in referee Seidu Bomison’s scoring sheet for the second goal.

The two goal lead notwithstanding, Kotoko fought relentlessly to increase the tally in the dying minutes of the first half but they failed in their attempt. Kotoko’s two goal lead did little to intimidate the visitors who resumed the game aggressively and one of their surges into Kotoko’s vital area saw Ouatara Baba Salia pulling one back in the 51st minute.

And like Kotoko’s Ahmed Toure, substitute Koulibali Daara, who was unmarked, recorded a brace, pulling even from a free kick in the 66th minute and fetching the winning goal two minutes later. Thereafter, Africa Sports dominated play, confining Kotoko to their own half in most parts of the second half.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s national U-20 soccer side, the Black Satellites, produced an above average performance to defeat premiership side Mighty Jets 2-1 at the Volta River Authority(VRA) Park in Akosombo in a friendly encounter yesterday.
