The hullabaloo surrounding the “all-die-be-die” statement by Nana Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues unabated as the Valentine Day’s (a day of love) edition of Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme, turned caustic with the discussion taking a dramatic but abusive turn, amidst the hot exchange of some uncharitable words.

Host of the show, Shamima Muslim, for once really had a hard time trying to calm down emotions and bring order back into the discussion.

Ursula Owusu, Vice President of FIDA-Int and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Mr. Kwadwo Twum Boafo were the panelists.

It all began when Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Mr. Kwadwo Twum Boafo, in his submission labeled Nana Akufo Addo as a dangerous psychotic adding that the NPP’s spirited defence of Nana Addo’s “all-die-be-die” statement indicates that Ghana will surely be lead into the Neanderthal ages with such a psychotic leader at the helm of affairs.

“It is dangerous to have a dangerous psychotic for a flagbearer and Ursula has shown that having a dangerous psychotic as a flagbearer can lead this country into the Neanderthal age because she has made a spirited defense of what Nana Addo said instead of addressing (condemning) what he said,” he fumed.

Contributing to a panel discussion Good Morning Ghana, Mr. Kwadwo Twum Boafo said Nana Addo is only trying to make himself relevant in the country’s body politic.

“This is an attempt by a man who has become irrelevant in the body politic of this country to become relevant but I can assure Nana Addo, his supporters, strikers and Goebbels who are saying the NDC has opened the door and they are going to walk through it, that the NDC has not opened any door and President Mills is a man of peace as everybody knows him to be,” he noted.

To him, the NPP Flagbearer’s statement shows how “dangerously psychotic, sexist and tribalistic” he is, pointing out that President Mills has over the years proven to be a man of peace, whiles Nana Addo has shown that he is a dangerous war monger.

He emphasized that the NPP can continue with the “all die be die” comment and make all kinds of t-shirts but the people of Ghana will make a choice and it will be a resounding defeat for the NPP.

Earlier in her submission, staunch NPP member and parliamentary aspirant for Ablekuma South, Ursula Owusu, clad in a T’shirt with the inscription, “all-die-be-die” strongly argued that the NDC has no moral justification to lecture on violence.

The FIDA-Int Vice President heavily censured President Mills, whom she accused of apathy whiles innocent people are being hacked to death, even though he is touted as an “asomdweehene”.

“What could be more dangerous than the so-called man of peace sitting by and watching four people being hacked to death in full view of the police, up until today, he hasn’t said anything about that. When his own foot soldiers went on the rampage, intimidating, harassing and attacking people including his own members (footsoldiers), he only said they are doing that because they need jobs,” she fumed.

Ms Owusu further added that she supports the call by the party’s flagbearer to be bold and defend their right in the 2012 elections, stressing that the NPP will not succumb to acts of intimidation by the NDC government.
