Black Stars’ survival in the CHAN championship hugely depends on Group ‘A’ leaders South Africa’s ability to defeat their Zimbabwean opponents tomorrow.
The Ghanaians have gone past two games, against South Africa and Zimbabwe without a win, but are counting on luck to see them through to the next stage of the competition should they win against Niger and South Africa beat Zimbabwe.
The Stars’ second successive loss plunged the entire soccer fraternity into a state of dilemma on the chances of the team many tipped to go beyond where their predecessors ended.
Indeed, if the pendulum of fortune swings in the Stars’ direction, and their wish come to fruition, it will urge them on to right the wrong that has caused them the displeasure of their fans by travelling far in the competition.
But if that dream falls through, then the finalists in the maiden edition of the competition would be expected to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport the following day or next by any available aircraft.
On Monday, Cameroun will pit their strength against Cote d’Ivoire, while DR Congo face Mali in the Group C fixture.
