Ghanaian striker Owusu Addae has dedicated his match winner for his Nigerian Premier League side Dolphins against Sunshine Stars last Saturday to his stricken mother.
Owusu’s mum, Ma Addae cheated death last month and had to go under the knife of surgeons in Ghana following a fibroid scare.
“I was really worried. I thought my dear Mum would die and I had to take permission from the club to go and see her in Ghana,’’ Owusu told SuperSport.com.
The clubs officials granted the import special dispensation to depart for Cape Coast, Accra and he missed three games (Kwara United, Crown and Heartland) before returning to Port Harcourt.
“I will not say my absence affected the team because we won those games that I missed. “My mum is alright bow and my heart is at rest so the goal I scored against Sunshine (Stars) is for my mum,” he said.
Owusu has now scored two goals this season following his strike against Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos, on the opening weekend of the season.
