Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of their Caf Champions League tie in Morocco.
The debutants had to play with ten men for more than 50 minutes and struggled to catch pace with their experienced opponents.
Wydad took early control of the match and took the lead under ten minutes through midfielder Zidoune Houcine. Striker Ahmed Ajeddou doubled the on the 19th minute.
Midfielder Johnson Adomah was sent off for rough play in the 38th minute before Brazilian Tiago Fernandes sealed the game for Wydad with a 40th minute effort.
Aduana, numerically disadvantaged, were strong in the second half and were able to close down the Moroccans down and threaten their goal on few occasions.
The Dormaa-based face a huge task of overturning the deficit in the second leg.
