The Crystal Clear Lens newspaper intelligent report has it that a crowd of thunder waves is gathering momentum, surging forward every day as members of the ‘NDC Youth Forum/Setting the Record Straight’ of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are almost set to storm the Castle to petition President John Mills against certain Ministers and some government appointees whom they describe as betrayals to the cause of the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’.
The members of the group have claimed that certain people in government are the reasons why they have not been offered any appointment. Others also claim that their businesses have not seen any improvement because some government officials would prefer to do business with opposition members, particularly the NPP.
We can authoritatively report that the NDC Youth Forum/Setting the Record Straight is one of the strategic campaign tools that tore apart the walled front of the then ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo in the 2008 crucial general elections. Truly, a lot of party supporters and some bigwigs believe strongly that it was the NDC Youth Forum/Setting the Record Straight that gave hope to Ghanaians.
After 24 months in power, the hope of the members of the group appears to be turning into a state of hopelessness because government is not showcasing the “father for all” principle.
What appears to be more disgusting is the fact that some members of the group who have been offered jobs after a long process of stretched interviews have been disappointed without any reason, hence their wall of anger against presidency.
The paper can authoritatively report that during their last meeting on Sunday at the Kuku Hill at Osu, Accra, it was words of war because tempers were high as members were sharply divided over the modus of operandi to adopt. Whereas members were of the view that the group should use radical action now to register their grievances because time would not wait for them, the leadership, particularly the Chairman, Mike Ayekple, believe that gradual approach was the way forward.
Meanwhile, if what the sympathetic party supporters have expressed via phone calls that have inundated the offices of the Crystal Clear Lens are anything to go by – then the NDC Youth Forum/Setting the Record Straight has gained nationwide recognition and the President Atta Mills ought to give them a listening ear.
