EDWIN OSEI Pele’s hopes of joining the exodus bandwagon have been dashed. Pele was reportedly at the tail end of finishing documentation to travel to Belgium to begin a professional career.
But if news emanating from the camp of Hearts of Oak is anything to go by, then the prolific striker would not make the trip.
Insiders informed DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that Hearts are not prepared to let go their prized asset at least for now. Hearts, he alleged, have not made their intentions known to the player, who is poised to leave the country.
A player agent who is spearheading Pele’s move to Belgium is said to be in the country now but Hearts are said to be uninterested in the deal. The sources said the development has become a source of great worry to the young player who is afraid such an opportunity might not come again.
According to him, another worry to Pele is the fact that Hearts for some reasons best known to themselves, have refused to feature him in games recently.
Pele, he said, is in top shape and score goals at training but he is always considered surplus by the technical team. The sources noted that the player is afraid his continual stay on the bench might affect his play.
