The Ghana Football Association has confirmed Akwasi Appiah will remain assistant coach of the national team after naming Serbian Goran Stevanovic as head coach.
The ex-international defender was second-in-command under Milovan Rajevac during his two year reign and took temporary charge of the Black Stars for last year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
“Let me take this opportunity to say that Akwasi Appiah will be Goran’s assistant. The FA has no plans of dispensing with the services of the local man,” Ghana FA spokesman Randy told GHANAsoccernet.com
Appiah is currently on attachment at English Premier League side Manchester City.
