Ex-Ghana defender Shilla Illiasu has signed for his former club Real Tamale United in a bid to revive his career after a three-year absence.
The 28-year-old, who thrilled Black Stars fans at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, has been out of the game for the past three years.
The player who nearly signed for English side Arsenal had a serious knee injury threatened his career.
Several top-notch doctors in Europe could not treat him so he resorted to local herbal medicine which has given him a glimmer of hope.
His Russian side Saturn FC cancelled his contract before the injury afflicted him which means he had to fend for himself to revive his career.
Illiasu is seeking to help Real Tamale United avoid relegation as one of the traditional teams in Ghana are in the drop zone.
