Goal : Thiago Silva has revealed that he would like to become AC Milan captain, and that he hopes to sign a new five-year contract when his current deal expires in 2016.
The 27-year-old Brazilian wants to become the club’s first foreign club captain since Nils Liedholm in 1961 after being handed the armband for last month’s Serie A fixture against Chievo, admitting that earning that honour on a regular basis has become a target of his in the long term.
“I hadn’t originally wanted to be captain, but then I became the Brazil skipper and I changed my mind,” the former Fluminense defender told Ansa.
