Prime minister Kamal al-Ganzouri said that Egypt has witnessed the cleanest and best legislative elections in its history, adding that these are the first elections no one objected to abroad.

In a press conference today at the General Authority for Investment headquarters, he said that for the first time Egyptians will have a legislative body without rigging.

He expressed his hopes for forming a constituent assembly to produce a constitution that “elevates equality principles, a constitution no less greater than 1923’s, one that takes us away from 1956’s constitution, which created the one-man dictatorship, and distances us from the disadvantages of 1971’s constitution.”

Ganzouri added that approval of real estate tax law and pension law has been postponed until the People’s Assembly convenes to take a final decision.
