Caxito — The governor of Bengo Province, João Bernardo de Miranda, last Friday in Caxito called on the local cadres to help the executive to create conditions in order to mobilise national and foreign investors to invest in this region of the country.

The minister made the appeal at the ceremony of yearend greetings, explaining that the transfer of the municipalities of Icolo e Bengo and Kissama to the neighbouring Luanda Province, has caused Bengo to lose about 95 percent of its revenue from taxes.

He said that with the attraction of investments it will be possible to give real utility to the land reserves of several hundred hectares in Caxito, for the establishment of industries.

There is also the intention to transform Bengo Province into a new and enviable agricultural market of Angola, “because the province has rich land and plenty of water for this purpose”.
