Gor Mahia have re-signed winger Ibrahim Kitawi, just six months after he left the club for Tusker FC.

Frustrated under coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, Kitawi moved to Tusker and won the Kenyan Premier League title with the Ruaraka side but was eventually released last month as the club restructures.

Kitawi, a product of Fisa Academy in Nairobi’s South B, has signed a one-year contract with K’Ogalo.

The club has also signed Thika United’s Yusuf Juma.

Juma, who has emerged as one of the best fullbacks this season, earning a call-up to the national team during the East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup weeks ago, has been in talks with K’Ogalo over a possible transfer.

    Versatile player

The player, who can play both in central defence and on the left, is yet to finalise the transfer.

Gor Mahia secretary, George Bwana, however said on Saturday what remains is a few details to be sorted out regarding the transfer before Juma becomes the club’s player.

“We are just tying the loose ends of the deal. The player has no problem joining Gor Mahia,” said Bwana.

Gor have already brought in Davin Owino from Karuturi Sports to cover the gap left by Masika, whose transfer to Leopards remains controversial as Ingwe maintain they will only pay K’Ogalo Sh300,000 which is half the amount Gor have demanded after climbing down from an initial price of Sh1 million.

Thika United have also lost the services of goalkeeper David Okello, who has joined Sofapaka. The club has also released David Ngure, Geoffrey Simiyu and Alfred Oduor, while midfielder Peter Opiyo is being courted by Tusker FC.

    Kenga joins Thika United

The Brookeside Dairies-sponsored side has, however, brought in midfielder Ali Kenga from relegated Bandari FC.

Gor will leave Nairobi tomorrow for a tour of Nyanza, where they are expected to play friendly matches in Suba and Kisumu.

Plans are complete for the arrival of K’Ogalo in Kisumu, where they will play Kisumu Combined and Muhoroni Youth.
