Guus Hiddink’s agent Kees van Nieuwenhuizen has moved to deny suggestions that the could take up the coaching role at Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 65-year-old has been out of work since leaving the Turkey post in November, but despite his experience with the Russian national team, the Dutchman will not be on his way to Dagestan to take over from Anzhi’s current caretaker-coach Roberto Carlos.

“Guus has been on vacation in Africa since last week. He will return only in mid-January, and will make up his mind about his future when he returns,” van Nieuwenhuizen said according to Sovetsky Sport.

“He will choose one of the offers he has already received. No one from Anzhi approached me and I had no contacts with this club.”

Meanwhile, a potential candidate for the post at the Dynamo Stadium is Russia B team coach Yury Krasnozhan, who is in advanced talks with the club according to Sport-Express.

The club’s general director Alan Soziev has refused to confirm the reports, but stated that they will announce their new coach before the end of the year.
