Black Leopards coach Vladislav Heric warns his club will need to reinforce their squad in the January transfer window and toughen up their mental approach if they are to stand any hope of surviving relegation.
The newly promoted Limpopo side remain second from bottom in the Premier Soccer League standings after a narrow 4-3 loss to Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night, conceding the winner to their hosts with virtually the last kick of the game.
“We have to wake up as quick as we can to the reality of our situation,” said the Serbian coach.
“We have to act like it is now our last game for survival otherwise we will not survive relegation,” he warned.
“I believe my management will respond and we will go to the market. I would like another 10 players but that is not the biggest problem for us. Instead it is the psychological approach. We are not mentally strong enough to defend properly or to cope when an opponent dominates us.
“Game by game we are leaking goals. I think it is an average of three goals conceded per game in our recent matches. That is unforgivable,” Heric added.
