Manchester United recorded their third straight win in the Barclays Premiership with a 2-0 win over Queens Park rangers at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon.

Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick scored the goals for the visitors in a match they could’ve won by a much higher margin.

The first goal arrived as early as the 1st minute in a simple move which was completed when a Wayne Rooney nodded an Antonio Valencia cross past Radek Cerny.

United got the ball into the back of the net again in the 23rd minute when Rooney put Danny Wellbeck through, but the young striker was slightly offside and the score remained 1-0.

Jonny Evans missed a great opportunity to double the lead four minutes later when Cerny failed to connect with a corner but the defender sent his header towards the crossbar with an open net in front of him.

Ranger’s goalkeeper Cerny, who was their best player on the day, made two brilliant saves in quick succession, blocking a shot from Phil Jones in the 29th minute, and then denying Antonio Valencia with a one-handed save two minutes later.

United eventually got their second goal in the 52nd minute when Michael Carrick went on a solo run from the centre before unleashing a ground-shot past the diving Cerny.

Alex Ferguson’s men created more chances with Wellbeck forcing a good save from Cerny with a curled shot in the 62nd minute, while Phil Jones’ saw his shot colliding with the upright seven minutes later.

It was a match that the visitors dominated from start to finish and did enough to collect the three points that will see them leapfrogging their rivals Manchester City to take the top spot on the log, although City could regain their position with a victory over Arsenal.
