Lyon Argentinian striker Lisandro Lopez celebrating his goal on Saturday evening

A 70th minute goal from Lisandro Lopez sent Lyon in the top three of the Ligue 1, after a 2-1 victory at Gerland at the expense of a solid Evian-Thonon-Gaillard side.

With 35 points, Olympique Lyonnais who celebrated tonight its fourth consecutive championship win, is now a point ahead from Lille, 4th on the table, which meet Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday evening at the Parc des Princes.

Jimmy Briand put OL on the lead after the half an hour mark, following a great effort from Alexandre Lacazette, whose strike hurt the post, the ball bouncing back on the Lyon midfielder; before delivering an assist with a good cross for a Lisandro’s successful header on minute 70.

Just before half time, Yannick Sagbo got an equalizer for Bernard Casoni’s side with a shot from close range which ended up between Hugo Lloris’ legs; and it was well deserved from the Haut-Savoyards who were denied a penalty for a Reveilleres handball on the goal line following a strike from Aldo Angoula (39).

Rémi Garde’s men globally dominated the encounter, and managed to secure the three points despite Clément Grenier being sent off few minutes before full time.
