    Dike quits Rangers

Coach of NPL side Enugu Rangers Alphonsus Dike has thrown in the towel citing lack of support from the club management for his decision.

Former national U17 handler Dike told MTNFootball.com: “This was a very difficult decision for me to take but I have formally informed the management that I wish to quit as technical adviser of Rangers.

“It was disappointing that despite all our efforts we could not win anything this past season.

“The fact was that we never got support and motivation from the management.

“It’s unfortunate that I have to go but I wish to thank the good people of Enugu for giving me the chance to serve.”

Dike took over from Sylvanus Okpala in the 2008/09 season. He has also coached Sharks of Port Harcourt and Heartland of Owerri.

Last week, Rangers crashed out in the semi-finals of the sub-regional WAFU Cup.

They finished sixth on the NPL table this past season and this once conquering club have not won a major trophy in almost 30 years.

Power tussle between the board and CEO Paul Chibuzor have left ‘The Flying Antelopes’ with no direction or purpose.
