Inter midfielder Andrea Poli has expressed his delight with the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win against Genoa in Tuesday’s Serie A encounter at the Luigi Ferraris.
Poli joined Inter from Sampdoria on a one-year loan deal at the start of the season, but injuries prevented him from making an impact so far.
Nevertheless, he featured from the start on Tuesday and helped Inter to an important victory.
“I wanted to play, to do well, to win. I’m really very happy. It couldn’t have gone any better than that. I want to continue to do well and do it with Inter,” Poli said in an interview with Inter Channel.
“I’m happy because I know if I’m fit I can give my contribution. I was calm, mostly because I really wanted to play, and therefore the emotions went away.”
Inter have climbed to seventh spot in the Serie A table following their win over Genoa but remain 10 points behind Juventus and Udinese.
