Host of Hitz FM’s morning show, Louis Sakyiamah aka Lexis Bill is set to feast kids at Point Hope, a charity project in Buduburam.

The campaign, which was launched last week on his radio show, ‘Daybreak Hitz’, is aimed at collaborating with his community of listeners to provide support for the Non Governmental Organisation which, for over 7 years, has been providing food and nutrition for kids in the SOS school set up by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and Point Hope Project which has children aged between 2 and 15yrs.

Most of these kids suffer from malnutrition and are prone to various diseases. It is in this light that the radio presenter decided to assemble cash and products that would aid a Christmas party for the kids.

In an interview with Lexis, he indicated what necessitated the action. “I paid the charity project, Point Hope a visit and got to know the development there with regards to helping the community with food security projects, water, health services and skills in various vocations. But I was more particular about the welfare of the kids”.

He added that the decision to run an on-air campaign was born out the fact that he shared his radio space with his listening community; hence it would be prudent to involve them to instil the virtue of sharing and giving in people who admire his work on radio. It was also aimed at getting individuals and corporate bodies who had the will to give and help the less privileged in society this festive season to join in for a much bigger impact.

The project, which kicked off on air immediately had the support of two media production houses, Role Models Agency and Fashionista GH, who decided to partner up with Lexis Bill as their form of corporate social responsibility. The campaign to include more donors will be on for the next two weeks after which the donation would be made. Lexis Bill will hence coordinate a Christmas party for the kids with the products and cash donated.
