‘No way on earth will Gareth Bale or Luka Modric be for sale’ – Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp is adamant that no amount of money can tempt Tottenham to sell Luka Modric or Gareth Bale.

Modric was wanted by Chelsea in the summer, and despite the player handing in a transfer request, the club managed to keep hold of him.

The Croatian seems to have put all this behind him, though, as he has been instrumental in the club’s recent form, which saw them go unbeaten for 11 games until Stoke City defeated them at the weekend. Bale, meanwhile, has been key in several matches.

“No way on earth will they be for sale – not a chance,” said Redknapp according to the Daily Mirror.

“I don’t think the chairman would accept any offer. We are looking to keep pushing on as we’ve been on a great run and we are bang in there.

“There are six teams in my opinion and all are very close to the top. It’s a challenge to make the top four and any of them six have a chance of winning it.”

Redknapp’s views seemed to be echoed by the chairman Daniel levy who vowed this week to keep the club’s top stars at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are in action on Thursday against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League, and to progress would need not only to win by a considerable margin but also for PAOK to beat Rubin Kazan by a similar score line.
