EDWARD SADOMBA’S vision to promote football talent in schools continues and he has stepped a gear up in donating sporting equipment to schools dotted across the country.

Having been appointed the Goodwill ambassador for Dynamos, Sadomba has taken the initiative to provide schools with balls and jerseys bearing the Dynamos logo.

The latest recipient were high schools participating at the Mutunzi Tournament in Ruwa were 10 balls, 10 jerseys, six Dynamos flags and 1 500 posters were distributed on Saturday. Sadomba is in Egypt with his Al-Hilal team and his wife Sherlynn represented him.

“Sadomba grew up in a very disadvantaged environment in Mbare were he had to save money or play money games to buy football boots.

“Because he faced challenges to rise to be where he is, he has seen it fit, coupled with his passion, to make things possible for the youngsters with similar backgrounds.

“Also because of his appreciation to the contribution Dynamos has had to provide a platform for his success he couldn’t find a better way than this to show his gratitude.

“He really knows there is a lot of work to be done and hence has encouraged us not to stop in his absence,” she said.

Sherlynn said because a lot of work has to be covered, she will continue to represent her husband on this project until the time he comes back home.

Austin Chipfiko, the operations manager for S Chiware Consultancy, said Dynamos needed to revive their junior policy and these tournaments will help them scout for talent.

“This project is targeting academies, secondary and primary schools where much of the talent is discovered.

“Therefore, we see it as a chance for Dynamos to look for talented young players, who will graduate into the senior team and secure its future,” he said.
