Yakowa dissolves cabinet

    KADUNA – Barely 48 hours after his inauguration, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Yakowa, Tuesday, dissolved   his cabinet  and sacked all political appointees.

    A statement from the  Secretary to Kaduna State Government, Mr. Waje G. Yayok said the directive  took effect from yesterday.

    “The Governor of Kaduna State, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa has, with effect from today (yesterday) 31st May, 2011)  dissolved the State Executive Council and all Boards of Parastatals and Companies”, said Yayok.

    “His Excellency has also terminated the appointments of all Political Appointees including, Special Advisers, Senior Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Project Facilitators, and Community Development Assistants”, the statement reads.

    “For clarification, the Executive Chairman and Members of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Chairman and members of the State Local Government Service Board and all non-career Executive Directors of Parastatals, and Companies and Chairman and Members of the State Teachers Service Board are affected”, Yayok said.
