The Federal High court in Awka, Anambra Stae has ordered former Governor of the state, Dr. Andy Uba, to stop parading himself as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the Anambra South senatorial zone, seven days before the election.
The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop recognising the purported candidates of the party for the April polls until the matter is disposed of.
The order was given yesterday in Awka by Justice Peter Olayiwola after hearing that certain parties were in breach of the order of the court earlier made ordering parties to maintain the status quo from C. Oguejiofor, counsel to the plaintiff in suit No: FHC/Awka/CS/05/2011.
Olayiwola also ruled that the earlier order should be ordered to continue, adding that court should protect its integrity.
The matter is between Prince Hon Nicholas Ukachukwu for themselves on behalf of the other aspirants for the positions of senators and members of House of Representatives from Anambra State on the platform of PDP, who won the PDP primaries conducted by Senator Joseph Waku.
Furthermore, the list included those who were successful in the primaries conducted by Senator Joseph Waku on the 7th Jnuary,2011 and 8th January against INEC and Kenneth Emeakayi as respondents.
The earlier order given by the court was that the INEC should respect supremacy of the National Executive council (NEC) in the party affairs for the election and not the state party leadership led by Chief Ben Udeozor.
