Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is confident there is more to come from recent arrival Sulley Muntari as he get to grips with life in the English Premier League.

Muntari, who is back in English football after a season at Portsmouth, has started the last four games following his loan move from Inter Milan. Benin international midfielder Stephane Sessegnon, who also arrived from Paris St Germain in January. has played the last five.

However, despite both men impressing during their first few weeks on Wearside, neither has yet ended up on the winning side, something Bruce is hoping they can help remedy during the weeks ahead.

Bruce said: “We can all see they are very, very good players. They are disappointed because they have been on the losing team, but they are both fantastic players.

“They are both technically very, very good. You don’t play for clubs like Paris St Germain and Inter Milan unless you are a very, very good player and we are delighted to have them here.

“They can only get better. They are enjoying the challenges of the Premier League and the rigours of it and let’s hope they keep improving.”
