NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Gas prices continued to rise nationwide Friday, with the average price per gallon up nearly 28 cents in the past 10 days.
The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline rose to $3.471 on Friday, according to a daily survey by motorist group AAA. That’s up 4.4 cents from $3.427 a gallon on Thursday and $3.368 on Monday.
California replaced Hawaii as the state with the higest gas prices in the nation. Drivers in the Golden State now pay an average $3.85 a gallon, while the average price in Hawaii is $3.84 a gallon.
Montana and Wyoming remain tied for the lowest prices in the nation. Gas prices in both states average $3.14 a gallon.

Oil prices were moving higher again Friday, rising to a high above $103 a barrle before backing down. The run-up in oil prices comes as the political crisis in Libya shows no sign of abating, and investors remain worried about additional supply disruptions from the Middle East. Â
