Manchester City could face a goalkeeping crisis in the coming months after Gunnar Nielsen joined Shay Given on the long-term injury list at Eastlands.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg during a reserve game with Bolton on Wednesday, leaving boss Roberto Mancini with Joe Hart as his only regular senior goalkeeper.
Stuart Taylor, whose last match was over a year ago in an FA Cup tie with Scunthorpe, looks set to be recalled to the first team squad, whilst Colombian stopper David Gonzalez has returned from a loan spell at Leeds United, where he did not even feature on the bench.
City had a similar goalkeeping problem towards the end of last season, with the club being given special dispensation to sign Marton Fulop on an emergency loan deal from Sunderland.
