President-elect of Ivory Coast Allassane Ouattara’s spokesperson, Patrick Achi says Laurent Gbagbo is gradually losing his control on state institutions in the Ivory Coast.
Mr. Achi says the incumbent president will soon give in to international pressure to cede power to Mr. Ouattara, who is international-recognised as the democratically-elected president of the country. The Ivory Coast has been racked by a dispute over recent presidential elections.
Mr. Achi told Joy News that the conflict will soon be resolved as Mr. Gbagbo loses his control over the media. He said when they first won the election, they didn’t control anything but things have since changed.
Abidjan is reported to be relatively calm but many people are still packing out following latest threats by ECOWAS security heads that they are ready to move in to remove Laurent Gbagbo by force.
