LAWRENCE NANA Asiamah Hanson, popularly called Bulldog, CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment, has told BEATWAVES that the reason why his record label was ranked among the best was because of hard work.
“We are very hot right now. My label has featured some of the hottest artistes around and so it is not an understatement to say Bullhaus is hot.
We are very hot. We are very strong in Ghana now. And hard work, perseverance, humility and the fear of God accounted for that,” Bulldog said in a short conversation on Thursday.
According to him, they hoped to be one of the finest labels on the African continent in no time.
Their plan is to work with other African artistes via collaborations such that his outfit will be pushing records of those artistes in Ghana, while the record labels of those artistes promote Bullhaus’ artistes out there.
Currently, Bulldog is focusing on becoming very successful in Ghana and the West African sub-region, before taking on Africa at large.
“Our vision is become the No.1 Record Label in the country by 2012 and expand our services through West Africa and the rest of Africa by 2015,” he added.
Bullhaus Entertainment was founded in 2003 by Bulldog. Upon its creation, the record label signed on its first artiste, 5Five.
The group (5Five) released its maiden album, ‘Ur Luv’ in 2006. The album became an instant hit with the hit song ‘Afrikan Gurlz’ being the ‘unofficial ringtone’ on virtually every phone in the country, and it also received rave reviews in and outside the Ghanaian media.
The album was so successful that 5Five was nominated for five categories in the Ghana Music Awards Festival in 2008, of which they won 2 awards (Discovery of the Year & Pop Song of the Year).
Bullhaus Entertainment believes in unearthing talents, honing their skills and making them stars. They also believe in global growth and are thus putting the Ghanaian music out there for the world to know what Ghana has got.
According to Bulldog, another talented young artiste known as Iwan has joined the label and has successfully released his album, which has been accepted by Ghanaians. Iwan won ‘Reggae video of the year’ at the just ended 4syte Music Video Awards. Nii of MTN Project fame used to be part of the label but he exited.
According to claims, he defied Bullhuas’ rules and went to perform at the last project fame reality show without permission from Bulldog.
