An extraordinary open house karaoke and dancehall party is scheduled to come off at the talk of the town Lyrics Pub and Movie Plaza today, Thursday, and this coming Sunday, respectively.
The event, put together to celebrate karaoke and dancehall music, would attract some of the finest guys and gals in the capital city and would go on all night long.
Emperor Blazy, the brain behind the event, told BEATWAVES that Lyrics Pub has an exclusive clientele that should be treated and made to feel like celebrities and that is the idea behind the concept.
“We have some of the finest dancehall DJs coming for Sunday’s program and this event would become a regular feature of our pub. The karaoke started last Thursday and it was a blast. Once you enter the pub, you can grab the mike and do your own thing…It was fun because the lyrics of the songs were being beamed on the wall so people could just sing along,” Blazy added.
When BEATWAVES visited the pub, it was observed that the setting had been designed for people with swag as persons wearing slippers or shabby cloths were not allowed in.
The manager explained, “It is not a street carnival or JSS end of school party. This is a pub and we maintain high standards here because we want our clients to feel good. It is our policy that persons wearing slippers are not allowed in. They may enter the movie rooms all right but not the pub.”
Lyrics Pub and Movie Plaza is situated on the Suruka Market road, just about two minutes drive from Dansoman in Accra. It has 15 executively furnished and fully air-conditioned movie rooms, a snooker tournament section, an exclusive VIP lounge and a general pub area.
