He did not train on Saturday to help his recuperation even though it is thought he would recover well before the tournament starts on 10th January in Angola.<\/p>\n
This comes as a new blow to the already injury-ravaged Black Stars with just one week to the African Cup of Nations in Angola.<\/p>\n
Influential stars Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, John Mensah and John Paintsil are all ruled out of the tournament with injuries.<\/p>\n
The fitness of Michael Essien is in doubt as he would have just recovered when the tournament starts.<\/p>\n
The injuries threaten Ghana\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s hopes of winning their fifth African Cup of Nations title for the tournament.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Ghana’s dependable midfielder Anthony Annan has still not recovered from the injury he suffered before joining the pre African Cup of Nations camp in South Africa.<\/p>\n
The enforcer has been under the watchful eyes of Black Stars team doctors to ensure that he is fully fit when the tournament starts on 10 January.<\/p>\n
The Norway-based player has been training alone with the doctors as his tasks have been reduced to just jogging.<\/p>\n
This is to ensure that he regains his sharpness and also help him avoid any knocks during training.<\/p>\n
The doctors are confident he will be ready to play for the Black Stars when they kick off their campaign on 11th January against Togo.<\/p>\n
The Norway-based player is believed to have suffered the injury just before he arrived in camp while training to remain fit for the competition.<\/p>\n
