Kefee celebrates birthday with Sapele Water

KefeeLast Friday at the Aqua 27 club in Victoria Island, Lagos, Niger Delta gospel songbird, Kefee Obareki hosted friends and fans

to a treat in celebration of her 30th birthday, alongside the official listening of her new single, Sapele Water. Sapele water is a slang commonly used by people of the South-South to refer to ‘liquor’ or ‘Ogogoro’.

The party had in attendance the likes of 2Face, Tony Tetuila, Ramsey Nouah, Zaaki Azzay, Duncan Daniels, Princess and a host of other celebs as they rallied round the Branama queen praying for her the best in life and career. Lots of media houses were represented on the green carpet ,including Soundcity, LiveBeats, Encomium, Hip On Tv, Guardian and Vanguard.

With beautiful choreography and warm smiles, Kefee performed her new song backed up by two dancers, exuding the confidence and strong will that’s seen her through the depressing moments of her 14-month old separation from hubby and producer, Alec, in their 3-year-old-turned-sour marriage.

Obviously determined to keep her music profile on the rise, the K-Solo produced Sapele Water is a good follow up to the massively popular Kokoroko which earned the singer two awards at the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) last year.

Sapele Water is the first single to be released off her forthcoming album titled ‘Confession’.
