Teenage prodigy Tawrick Jibril is set to join Asante Kotoko after quitting bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
The move to the Kumasi-based team has won him friends and enemies in equal measure as he is expected to join Kotoko on a free transfer.
Jibril made a famous appearance at the Kotoko training ground on Friday before he was whisked away by officials of the club.
Talks for the signature Jibril is at an advanced stage with Kotoko board chairman K. K. Sarpong said to have reached an agreement on terms of his contract.
The move is a huge bargain for the Porcupine Warriors as they will not pay Hearts any amount of money for the transfer of the talented youngster.
The youngster is also set to cash in big time as he is expected to be handed about US$60,000 as his enticement fee.
Jibril’s move is expected to turn into a huge media circus and generate controversy in the Ghanaian media in the coming days.
A similar move by Charles Taylor who left Hearts to join Kotoko generated heated debates but the player later returned to the Accra side.
