The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has said that Young Africans Football Club (Yanga) failed to conclude on time the agreement with the Ghanaian striker, Kenneth Asamoah’s former club, FK Jagodina.
TFF Technical Director, Sunday Kayuni told The Citizen that when the FK Jagodina agreed to release the player to Young Africans, the registration deadline had already expired, forcing the the world governing body, FIFA to block his move to Tanzania.
Kayuni said that there was misinformation in various media concerning Asamoah ahead of this year’s league season.
“I told Yanga to tell the public about the player’s fate, they did not do so, it is clear that Asamoah won’t play for the team in the first round until all procedures are complete,” said Kayuni.
He said that there was also an error on the player’s date of birth on a new web-based transfer matching system designed by the world football governing body (FIFA).
Kayuni said that in his first contract with FK Jagodina, the player indicated that he was born on August 1, 1988 while in the new contract the player was shown to have been born on August 10, 1988.
