Herbert Mensah:Nii Lantey Is A Political ‘Underling’

Herbert Mensah Attacks Nii Lantey; He Is A political ‘underling’

A football administrator, Herbert Mensah, on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on Presidential Staffer Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, describing comments by the latter as rubbish and totally irresponsible.

Speaking on Adom FM, Herbert Mensah questioned why Nii Lantey failed to crosscheck the source of media reports suggesting that former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is aiming at contesting the Presidential slot of the NDC for the 2012 elections, before granting interviews to the media on the said story.

Nii Lantey is reported to have stated that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will not make any meaningful impact if she dares declare her intention to contest the flag-bearership slot of the National Democratic Congress. Nii Lantey is further reported by the Ghanaian Chronicle as describing Mr. Mensah as a contributing factor to the NDC’s loss of the 2000 presidential election.

In a swift reaction to these statements, Mr. Herbert Mensah described Nii Lantey as one of such “unqualified persons” who are in government, and without any apology to Nii Lantey, he again described him as “a junior in politics”.

Meanwhile Nii Lantey Vanderpuije wants Herbert Mensah, a son of B.A Mensah, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party, to openly declare whether or not he wants to join the ruling NDC. But pollster and editor of the Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson Jnr. says what is happening in the ruling NDC should not be seen as anything unthinkable. He believes what is happening is a mere family feud that will be resolved some way somehow.

When he spoke to Asempa News, he was convinced that the party will find a way to resolve the recent outburst from some party people including that of the former President John Rawlings.
