Copa del Rey holders Sevilla.
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is looking to add a young defender to his squad to replace the ageing Rafael Marquez and Carles Puyol in the long term and Guardiola reportedly sees Cala as the perfect addition to his squad.
The 20-year-old Cala is a product of the Sevilla youth academy and made his La Liga debut for the Nervionenses against Real Zaragoza back in February 2010. The defender has since put in a number of encouraging performances.
Sevilla are eager to renew the defender’s contract, but negoatiations haven’t led to a contract extension just yet. Cala’s current deal carries a €12 million buy-out clause and Barcelona could be ready to meet that figure.
