Fabio Capello plans face-to-face talks with Wayne Rooney to urge the England striker to curb his temper.
Hot-headed Rooney has been under the spotlight after his foul-mouthed attack on referee Jeff Selogilwe in England’s final World Cup warm-up match against South African outfit Platinum Stars.
Capello plans to remind Rooney of his responsibilities rather than deliver a dressing down following his flare up on Monday.
England boss Capello is happy with Rooney’s form and loves his never-say-die spirit but knows he cannot afford to have him get into disciplinary trouble.
To that end, Capello will urge Rooney to ‘keep up the good work’ but is desperate for him to lead England’s attack throughout the World Cup.
