Barcelona are set to finalise contract renewals for Daniel Alves and Seydou Keita within the coming weeks according to Sport.
Both player’s current deals run until 2012 but coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen to ensure that the future of each player is resolved before the start of the 2010-11 season.
Discussions are already underway between sporting director Txiki Begiristain and Alves’ lawyer with regard to a two-year extension and although he is currently on World Cup duty with Brazil, the 27-year-old defender is set to agree to a deal that will keep him at the club until 2014.
In the case of Keita, it is understood that there have been initial contacts between the club and the player’s representatives with formal talks to get underway soon. As the Mali midfielder will be 32 when his current deal expires, it is reported that he will be offered a one-year extension with a further year contingent on performance. His future is expected to be clarified before the beginning of pre-season training next month.
