Nollywood stars who are currently being featured in theÃ‚Â music videos of the long-awaitedÃ‚Â new albumÃ‚Â by a SwedishÃ‚Â basedÃ‚Â NigerianÃ‚Â singer, writer and actor Lawrence OnuzulikeÃ‚Â a.k.a Lurrenz.
Entitled, Ã¢â‚¬Å“ I am LurrenzÃ¢â‚¬Â, the album,Ã‚Â which the gifted singer and actor came to Nigeria to promote its single lastÃ‚Â year also featured the singing trio of Konga, Pasto Goody-Goody and the Jah Squad, in a Ã¢â‚¬Å“never seen-before kind of collabo.Ã¢â‚¬Â
Lurrenz, back in Sweden shooting some videos ofÃ‚Â his new album, promised that the full album, alongside the videos, would be releasedÃ‚Â in Nigeria and Europe respectively, mid this year in collaboration with his foreign partners.
In an on-line chat with Lurrenz, the prodigious artiste disclosed that the aforementioned Nollywood stars featured in his music videos as dancers. The album is painstakingly produced by Pupa Orits Williki for Lurrenzinc Music.
Ã¢â‚¬Å“InÃ‚Â myÃ‚Â music videos,Ã‚Â IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve featured, Shan George, Zubee Enebeli, Jerry Amilo, Francis Odega, Toyin Alausa, Davina and many more. They featured as dancers,Ã¢â‚¬Â he hinted.
LurrenzÃ‚Â is a writer, musician, actor, and an activist whoÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s fiercely against violence and discrimination against women.
HeÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s also a devoted campaigner who championed the cause for better life for African kids through his Children Africa Foundation founded in 2004 in Sweden. ItÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s also ofÃ‚Â note that ten percent of the sales fromÃ‚Â his previous album Ã¢â‚¬Å“Still Single and RichÃ¢â‚¬Â went to charities that carter for African kids.
Lurrenz delved into acting recently, featuring in Ã¢â‚¬Å“Grand MotherÃ¢â‚¬Â with the likes of Shan George, Uche Iwuji, and Charles Okafor, amongst others. He also featured in Ã¢â‚¬Å“Escape from SouthÃ¢â‚¬Â which was shot inÃ‚Â his Lekki residence alongside Segun Arinze, Hanks Anuku, Jerry Amilo, Monalisa Chinda.
Lurrenz said his passion for acting developed right from childhood, noting that his joining the industry at last was at the instance of film maker friends who mounted pressures on him, following the conviction that his handsome posture would be added advantage in the industry.
Doing charity work has seen Lawrence travel far and wide across the globe and that includes working closely with late Mother Theresa at the Missionary of Charity, Calcutta, India, between 1996 and 1997. In fact, Lawrence Onuzulike is one of the few people that last saw late Mother Theresa before her death on the September 5, 1997.
