The police have launched a manhunt for the woman after she sent shockwaves across the community with the killing of her own children with poison-laden bread.
News about the bizarre action swept across the Kasoa suburb and beyond, with many curious persons rushing to the location to find out more about what really happened.
The deceased kids were Kweku Asante 11, Nana Yaw Asante, 9, Angela Asante, 6, Kofi Asante, 4, and Esi Asante, one and half years.
Georgina Akwele Tawiah, who was said to suffer from occasional bouts of depression, reportedly went for the kids from their father, Christian Asante, who lived at Sowutuom in Accra.
The marital union between the couple had broken and so when the kids were on holidays, as was the case now, she picked them from their father’s place to come and spend the vacation with her.
With school about to re-open, the suspect, according to her family head, Kwame Donkor, called her former husband on Monday to come and pick the kids on Tuesday.
When the man arrived at the Nyanyano residence, where he formerly lived, he met the room locked and decided to peep through a crevice.
He called out the names of the elder kids, expecting some response, having found them sprawled on the floor.
Not getting any response, he broke in and to his surprise, found all the kids lifeless and foaming from the mouth.
The Kasoa Police were unable to offer any word about the incident, explaining that they had scanty information at the time DAILY GUIDE went seeking further details.
The remains of the deceased had been moved to the mortuary for autopsy as the Police commence investigations into the incident, with the principal suspect at large.
