Dan Lartey will be remembered for non-irritating politics

Late Dan LarteyElections analyst and publisher of The Daily Dispatch newspaper, Mr Ben Ephson has said the late Dan Lartey will be remembered for his “non-irritating humour in politics.”

He said the Founder, leader and presidential candidate of the Great Consolidated Popular Party espoused his political views without offending others.

Mr Lartey, noted for his vociferous advocacy for domestication – eating what we produce and producing what we eat – died Monday evening after a short illness.

His son, Henry Lartey told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah that, the family intends to celebrate his life because the man lived a fulfilled life.

Mr Ben Ephson agreed. He said the late Dan Lartey was at the forefront of Operation Feed Yourself which was launched in the 1970’s and targeted at enhancing self-reliance, at least in food production in the country.

Mr Ephson said it was unfortunate that ‘Uncle Dan’s’ mantra had not been given the needed attention by successive governments.

According to him, there were very many good things in the thoughts and ideas espoused by the octogenarian politician, which if given the needed attention could propel the growth and development of the country.
