Paa Kwesi Brew Yalley: NDC Youth need dynamic leadership

NDC Youth A youth activist of the National Democratic Congress, Paa Kwesi Brew Yalley, has called for a paradigm shift in the role of the party’s youth wing for it to become an integral organ for national development.

He said the NDC youth wing is an integral and autonomous organ of the party hence it has been accorded a national executive recognition and therefore needs a dynamic leader who can meet the aspirations of the Ghanaian Youth.

According to him since the youth wing represents the backbone of the NDC and for that matter the government, it should adopt dynamic mechanisms of engagement.

Paa Kwesi Brew Yalley who is contesting for the National Youth Organizer position of the NDC in the party’s upcoming congress said this in an interaction with newsmen in Accra.

He said his decision to contest the position was influenced by his experience as a team player, organisational and business acumen. He said the party had gotten to a crossroad where experienced people in political administration and business were needed to bring their experience to bear by way of giving practical ideas to address the needs of the party foot soldiers in the wake of constant criticism of the government by its own.

According to him when given the nod as the National youth Organizer of the NDC, he will work to ensure that the welfare of the youth and foot soldiers of the party are well catered for through the provision of employable skills and other welfare schemes.

He said under his tenure the youth wing of the party will be re-branded to move from being visible only during electioneering campaigns to a vibrant organ contributing to national development. The NDC Youth Organiser aspirant said he will use his experience as an entrepreneur to mentor the youth through the introduction of skills-based jobs.

“I have a demonstrable record and had been a strong voice for the party in the Central Region in the last elections and will continue to do that to get everybody to appreciate the NDC and believe in its capability of creating a better Ghana for all,” he said.

According to Paa Kwesi Brew Yalley, he was one of the pillars of the NDC in the Central Region in the last elections who secured massive victory for the party in the region. He enumerated some of his sacrifices to the party to include providing logistical support to the Central Regional Secretariat of the party and support to the campaign machinery of the various parliamentary candidates of the NDC in the Central Region.

He described himself as a team player who would help to inject vibrancy into the party and that he would work to ensure that the youth organ of the NDC is functional to win more votes for election 2012 as according to him his social networks cut across the political divide.

He said he would reach out to the foot soldiers and sympathizers of the party in a persuasive manner. “I will ensure information flow to make our youth and foot soldiers feel part of the party.”

He urged the party’s youth to stay away from acts that could undermine its unity and cohesion. He said the NDC belongs to the youth and as such they should understand what it stands for and work to realize the party’s vision and goals.

He further urged the youth to see the party as their source of hope and work harder for it to retain power.
