CISAC trains MCSN Staff

In a move that further reinforces the confidence of International copyright community in the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN), the governing body of copyright administration in the world, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), in collaboration with  affiliate sister organisation, South African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) and the South African Recording Rights Association Limited (SARRAL) are sponsoring two staff members of MCSN on a course in the use of the newly introduced documentation and accounting system for copyright administration all over the world known as C-Basic, which enables copyright societies to upload data in a standard form for all sister societies.

The MCSN’s staffs embarking on the training course and study days in Johannesburg, South Africa are the Manager General Licensing, Mr. Louis Udoh and Distribution/Accounts Manager, Olukayode Kayode.

On completion of their training and return to the country, they are expected to boost the operations of MCSN with their new knowledge of C-Basic documentation and accounting.

The course will enhance the process and procedure of distribution of royalties and general operations of the society which have been growing from strength to strength over the years despite the seemingly contrived crisis in copyright administration in the country.

MCSN is the only organisation in Nigeria that benefits from the trainings of staffs by the CISAC.
