iBurst Donates To Police iBurst Africa, an Information Technology (IT) company, has donated 10 modems to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

The items worth GH¢3,000.00 would help the CID to connect to internet in order to speed up its research modus and also assist in the combating of cyber crime.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of iBurst, the Marketing Manager, Richard Nii Okanta Ankrah, said the donation formed part of the company’s corporate responsibility, adding that his outfit would partner the CID in fighting cyber fraud in the country.

“As a serious internet service provider, our corporate ethos is based on consistently delivering high standards in the execution of our services as well as offering a product range of excellent quality to our customers.

“It is however difficult to do so in a climate of online insecurity due to increasing rate of cyber fraud,” he added.

The Marketing Manager also acknowledged the efforts of the police in combating crime even in the face of major constraints.

“We recognize the valuable efforts of the Ghana Police Service in fighting the menace even under extreme logistical constraints,” he stressed.

Mr. Ankrah expressed hope that the donation would further deepen partnership between the two institution in order to ensure security on the internet for the benefit of all patrons.

On his part, the CID Director-General, DCOP Frank Adu Poku, expressed appreciation to the company, stressing that the donation was timely since “cyber fraud was becoming alarming in the country.”

He said the modems would be put to their maximum use of fighting cyber fraud and also for research.

The Director-General explained that investigations were crucial part of the department’s assignments, observing that the modems would immensely enhance their operations.

Personnel of the CID also received some branded T-shirts of the company.
