Three Assailants Attack Labourer

FrancisA FORTY TWO year-old labourer, known only as Francis escaped death by the whiskers when three men pounced on him and inflicted several cutlass wounds on his arms, back, cheek and thighs.

The three assailants, now on the run suspected Francis of stealing yams from their farm.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, the victim who lives at Akomadan said he was hired by one Alhaji to work on his farm which shares borders with the others’.

He said whiles working he became hungry and decided to dig some tubers of yam to cook but while digging, the three emerged from nowhere and accused him of stealing their yams.

According to Francis, before he could offer any explanation, the men pounced on him and started slashing him with their cutlasses.  They then left him to his fate and ran back into the bush.  A visibly faint Francis told this reporter that he bled so much he lost consciousness.

According to him two days later, the assailants returned to the farm and when they saw him alive, they carried him by night to the side of a road.

A Good Samaritan who saw him lying in a pool of blood reported the case to a local FM station which also called Techiman police to the scene.  He was conveyed to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital
