A 10-year-old girl has been found hanged at her home in Manchester.
Megan Walker was discovered by a member of her family in her bedroom in Colby, Harpurhey at 1620 BST on Wednesday.
She was taken to hospital but died in the intensive care unit 24 hours later. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
A police spokesman said they were trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the young girl’s death and inquiries are ongoing.
Just over a month ago, on March 27, a 13-year-old boy was found hanged at his home in Spotland, Rochdale. He was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.
His death was not treated as suspicious and the coroner was informed.
